Student Testimonials
"Theatre is practically my home. It's a place where you can be yourself and not be judged or discriminated against. It's a place where you are accepting of others and yourself, and no matter what the differences, we all work together, as not just a team- a family that we share a bond with long after high school. Before I found Theatre, I was terrified of talking to people, even my friends. Imagine what it was like trying to present something to the class. I had a low self-esteem. I was a very unconfident person, and then I found theatre. Now I have no problem talking in front of the class; I'm confident, and I can talk to basically anyone. Without theatre, I wouldn't be the person I am today. My grades would be low, I'd still be afraid to be myself around others, and I probably would not have gotten a job so easily. You can learn things in the arts electives that you can't learn anywhere else."

"You and Theater taught us Leadership; You and Theater taught us Responsibility; You and Theater taught Hard Work and dedication; You and theater taught gave us that feeling of Accomplishment and Victory that none of us would get anyway in that School. I never was Valedictorian, I never got the winning the Touch Down, I never got a Scholarship because of my grades, I never got a pat on the back from the Principal or many other staff. I did get to take bows in front of our small applauding crowd and be blinded by theater lights and feel that rush of Victory in that theater. Most of us never fit into highschool but in theater we could be anyone we wanted from any play, but most of the time we got to take off our daily mask and costumes of highschool and be simply ourselves. In that big dark theater we felt safe, secure, and with family. We love you Mrs. Snow and all the work you have done to better us!"

"Theatre has helped me in ways that no other class has done. I am able to speak in front of people without getting stage fright. I'm unafraid to be myself at school. Theatre is so important! It makes us think outside the box. We remember things and retain more information. We can problem solve faster. Theatre teaches us to accept everyone for who they are."

"Theater has given me the ability to have a voice! It is the reason I can share ny opinions and express who I am! It has made me a leader and taught me self expression! I wouldn't have half the public speaking skills I do today if it weren't for that class! I learned to be accountable for myself, how to work as a team but also how to be independent. It is more then a class, it turns into a family! It creates lifetime bonds between students and faculty. It gives everyone else a place when they don't know their own! Theater is a home to so many and to take that away would take away one of the only things left that teaches so many lessons that do extend beyond the classroom!"
