Mask Project
Students created plaster masks. Once their forms were set, they studied the face, journaled, and began creating a character to be represented by the masks. Students finished the masks to represent the personality of the character. They then wore the masks and went through a series of movement, characterization, and analysis activities to create a character and develop a monologue. The final mask performances were a masked physical pantomime followed by an original monologue as the created character.
